Logan Alvarado

Bass/Vocals

Logan Alvarado is a trumpeter, singer, composer, educator, and a founding member of Epic XVIII. While not coming from a music-centric family, his parents have always encouraged him to participate in a variety of musical activities ranging from the Emmy award-winning Southern California Children’s Chorus to the concert band, jazz, marching, orchestra, and steel drum courses offered by the Saddleback Valley Unified School District.

He began studying his primary instrument, the French horn, at 11 years old and continued playing that as his main instrument through earning his degree and credential in music education from California State University Fullerton. During this time, he learned how to play a wide range of instruments and musical styles that have greatly influenced his performance and compositional practices.

Logan did not begin to make trumpet playing his focus until meeting Adam Marquez through the Imperial Valley Music Educators Association and performing together in Jimmy Cannon’s Valley Jazz. While new to the start-up “rock band” world, Logan obstinately endeavors to learn and research new performance and recording techniques and is currently experimenting with using guitar and vocal effects on his trumpet and voice during live performances.

Due to the necessity Logan took up the bass and is currently holding it down aspiring to play like Thundercat.
